Jason Higbee attended the University of Oregon starting in 1998. He was a charter member of the Lundquist College of Business Entrepreneur's Club, and received a BS in Architecture, concluded by several months of study in Europe and a final year of study at the University of Oregon's Urban Architecture Program in Portland with additional classes at Portland State University.

Jason was introduced to Ankrom Moisan Architects + while completing his thesis in Portland and accepted an architectural position focusing on resort and hospitality projects. He quickly became active in many aspects of the company's business, earning associateship within two years.

Work related and personal travel over the next few years took Jason to locations around the world including much of the West, major cities on the East coast, Mexico, the Bahamas, Hawaii, and the United Arab Emirates. He was involved in dozens of projects through all stages of concept planning, feasibility, design, and construction.

The culmination of four and a half years at Ankrom Moisan, earning the highest professional designation from the American Resort Development Association, and avidly pursuing new territory for the company led to a realization; that it was time to step back and take a closer look at the big picture.

He went on leave from Ankrom Moisan in 2007 and founded Powered by Tea, in line with his personal interest in Tea and fueled by his global perspective. Jason currently lives in Portland, Oregon with his family, which he proudly calls home.
